It struck me that the past year of reading - finding new books to read within current books, or in bestseller lists, or in book lists of people I respect - from book to book, a kind of search for I did not know what - that year had brought me to some absolutely wonderful books. But ultimately it had brought me to this one. Just this book. 

From here on I will, of course, continue to read, but it feels like I have touched upon a milestone. It feels like I have found something I've been searching for.. like an old diary, or an old friend.
