Conversely, if we want to move forward, it's not always a matter of "just step forward".
Sometimes, it's a matter of being heard or being seen in a way that people are rarely heard and seen these days. Sometimes it's a matter of understanding what we're really, truly, so scared, angry, afraid, or sad about.
It's having an honest and sincere chat with yourself. Understanding where you're at; what you're facing; seeing the truth of the matter.
Sometimes, that's all it takes.
